About Trucs d’Enfants
Trucs d’Enfants is an independent children's clothing brand based in Montreal, Canada, creating comfortable, durable and thoughtfully designed clothes for babies and kids from newborn to 12 years old.
Founded by designer Mary-Jo Dorval in 2016, the brand was born from a simple idea: children deserve clothing that lets them move, grow and be themselves, without compromising on style, quality or ethics.
Designed in Montreal, made in Canada
All Trucs d’Enfants garments are designed and produced in Montreal in small batches. This approach allows founder Mary-Jo Dorval to remain closely involved in production, often making pieces herself and collaborating with trusted local manufacturers when needed.
Producing locally helps support Canadian textile expertise, ensure fair working conditions, and reduce the environmental footprint of each collection.
Our fabrics are carefully selected, often using organic cotton, bamboo blends and eco-friendly textiles that are soft on children's skin while remaining durable enough for everyday adventures.
Clothing that grows with children
Many of our pieces are designed as “grow with me” clothing, meaning they adapt as children grow. Adjustable lengths, flexible waistbands and thoughtful cuts allow garments to be worn longer than traditional kids clothing.
This approach helps families buy less, waste less, and get more wear from each piece.
Libre-genre clothing for kids
Trucs d’Enfants collections are designed with a libre-genre philosophy.
Rather than creating clothes for boys or girls, we design pieces that can be worn by any child. Colours, prints and silhouettes are intentionally versatile, allowing families to mix, match and pass garments between siblings and friends.
For us, libre-genre clothing simply means giving children the freedom to wear what feels right to them.
A small brand with big values
Trucs d’Enfants started in 2016 with $900 and fabric cut on a kitchen floor. Since then, the brand has grown into a sustainable Canadian business worn by families across the country and beyond.
We believe in:
• Local manufacturing
• Sustainable and responsible fashion
• Durable clothing made to last
• Creative independence
Over the years, the brand has also supported community initiatives and shared knowledge with young designers and interns starting their journey in fashion.
Designed for real childhood
Our clothes are made for climbing trees, running in the grass, building forts, and everyday life. Durable fabrics, comfortable cuts and timeless designs make them easy to wear, pass down and love for years.
